About Frontier Barn Homes
Frontier Barn Homes operates out of Uxbridge, Ontario, and was founded in 2001 by Tim deJong. When first founded Frontier Barn Homes began by specializing in using old barn structures and reclaimed antique barn beams to create custom designed timber frame homes and structures. Over the years we have evolved and now offer a wide range of fimber frame products as well as barn homes. At Frontier Barn Homes we believe in offering choices, and will customize to meet your needs, ranging from the designs, to the size of timbers, finishing’s and type of wood used. At Frontier it is very important to us that you get a top quality timber frame, and for this reason all of our frames are hand crafted and raised by Tim and his crew.
Tim deJong - Craftsman & Founder
Tim's passion for timber frames goes back to his childhood where he spent countless hours playing in barns and became fascinated with the simplicity and beauty of the timber frame barn. Little did he know then that many years later he would be building timber frames for families, allowing them to create their own memories to be passed down from generation to generation. Tim's passion for timber frames grew even stronger in 1989 at the age of 15 while working for a timber frame company and gaining insight into the craftsmanship of timber frame construction. After graduating from Urban and Regional Planning at Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto, Tim worked as a planning consultant for five years. Unable to suppress his desire to work with timber frames and fuelled by his long time love of barn architecture, he founded Frontier Barn Homes in 2001.
